My friend did this with her girls when her husband was out of town. So, I thought we'd give it a try to see if it helps them deal with Dave being gone. So far, so good. Abigail is taking the 'cup half full' approach. Right now the chain is so long, but she rips one off every night and says "We are one day closer to seeing Daddy!" I love her and I'm so proud of her!

Missing Daddy
Dave is gone for 2 1/2 weeks and we are already missing him. Things seem to always be a little crazy around the Huwe household. The day before Dave left we took Abigail to the ER because her tummy was hurting so bad that she was screaming. They ruled out appendicitis and said it was most likely a urinary tract infection and sent us home with antibiotics. On Thursday she was doing much better. On Friday morning we went to her doc for a follow up and he said her urine looked ok. By 1:30 she had a fever again and was feeling awful. Around 7pm she threw up, they said if she got worse or started vomiting to bring her back in. So Dave's parents came to get Josiah and Emma and I took her in again. The new doc in the ER said after the culture came back from Wed it showed that she did not have a uti, but it was most likely a virus. They did a chest xray and ruled out pneumonia. So, we all ended up spending the night at Dave's parents. I am so grateful and happy that we have family close by. Abby is feeling better today and so far no fever.
Another thing I'm grateful for is Skype. It makes it a little easier being able to see Dave and talk to him while he's away. It's still hard on the kids so please pray for them while he's gone.

July 4th
We had a fun 4th of July weekend with Dave's family. The 4th of July started out with a great service at church. They did an awesome collection of excerpts from patriotic songs that had everyone in the sanctuary teary eyed. Then we went to Dave's parents house for the rest of the day.
Abby and Hannah have so much fun together.

Silly boys!

Silly Emma eating her gluten free cupcake.

These girls LOVE to wrestle.

Josiah was having a good time as Emma cuddled up with him.

Josiah finally meet his Aunt Cheryl.

His is so stinkin' cute!!

Dave & Micah tried to get the gocart working, but there was one leaky tire so we never got to ride it. Hopefully next time.

My so adorable neice, Maddy. So happy so is finally here. (She is Emma's new best friend. They are so cute together.)

All the cousins finally together.

Last year Abby was afraid of the sparklers, but not this year!

Emma surprised us by not being afraid of them.

This was literally 1 minute into the drive home. They played hard all weekend.

June Favorites
Emma got her tonsils and adenoids removed at the beginning of June. We did a lot of movie watching.

We took the kids to the m&m factory

The were both sleeping with their blankets over their heads. I thought it was cute.

Abby loves her pool.

Emma loves to pose.

I love it that he smiles now.

I continue to try to get a good one of all 3 kids.

All 5 of us on Father's Day!

Grandpa with his grandkids

Father's Day-Emma wasn't cooperating.

Hanging out in Josiah's crib.

Such a cute little guy.

He cracks me up with his eyebrow expressions. (He gets that from Grandpa Huwe.)

Dave & I celebrated our 7th anniversary.

Happy Father's Day
I really feel blessed by the Dads in my life.
My Dad....

He's the best. One thing I love about my dad is his love for music. Which I'm sure is where I get my love for it. Growing up we always had music playing and we were always singing together. That tradition is continuing on with my kids. Both girls love to sing and dance around with me. So thanks Dad, for blessing us with joy as we sing and have fun together.
My Father-in-Law....

He's pretty great too. He has taught my husband to have a strong work ethic and has taught him many trades. I know that Dave will pass this on to the girls and to Josiah. Thanks Gordon for being my father-in-law.
My husband....

I don't know where to start! He is the best. I love that he is a hard worker, but that family is the most important thing to him. No matter how busy life is he always takes time with each kid individually to let them know how much he loves them. He is so sweet and affectionate with them. I'm blessed to have a man who is a good example of a what a loving father is. I know my kids will have a healthy perspective on who God is and how he loves them based on how their earthly father loves them. Thanks for being the loving dad that you are. I love you, Babe!

May Madness
May was a crazy month with have our new little guy around! His sisters can't get enough of him.

He was having a hard time nursing. When he was two weeks old we found out he was 'tongue tied', which meant he had to get the skin under his tongue cut so he could stick out his tongue. He got that procedure done at about 3 weeks old. I nursed him for about 2 weeks and went back to the lactation consultant to find out that he had lost weight and was barely eating because he was still learning how to use his tongue. So, we made the decision to put him on formula. It was a sad decision because I wanted to nurse him, but it was best for him and the whole family. It's two weeks later and he is finally getting some meat on his bones.

We took the girls for a little 'hike' to the old railroad tunnels by Lake Mead. Josiah spent some time with Grandma Huwe.

Abby had her 4th birthday! We got her a pool.

She had a Disney Princess party.

Dave had his 30 Something birthday.
We got him a BluRay Player that he's been wanting for forever.

Josiah was his other present!
